  • Inferno review (because i'm talking to Vangelus!)

so yeah, Transformers Universe Inferno. this toy is fucking magnificent, to say the least. Mind you, my views of the toys are through the rosy glasses of nostalgia. Too bad the toys itself is SO FUCKING GOOD even WITHOUT nostalgia glasses!. so anyways, on with the pictorial review!

first thing's first: the vehicle mode.

ans you can plainly see, Inferno is a water tender (NOT A FIRETRUCK!). it's a bit of a chage from the G1 figures, where Inferno was some obscure jap firetruck model.

as you can see, the front end of the vehicle mode is quite well detailed. there's paint apps and what have you all over the front. unfortunately, the back end didn't fare so well.

there's a lot of molded detail and whatnot, at least. the back end is a wee bit gappy for my tase, but eh. it's a minor nitpick.

now, on to the robutt mode. inferno is my kinda bot: 100% pure cybertronian beefcake. he is so chunky it's awesome.his articulation is essentially standard fare for now. hinge joints jsut about everywhere, except for the neck joint, which is a ball joint. his shoulders are EXTREMELY heavy ratchet joints. so heavy, in fack, that his ultra-manly elbows are severed by his own articulation. that is to say, the pegs that hold the upper arms into the shoulder bits are kinda flinmsy, but that's probably because of shitty child safety laws.

so here's inferno's mighty....backside. he has some pretty impressive molded detail back there, but i really don't see the back of him too often.

as you might be able to see, Inferno is pretty poseable for being such a huge collection of robotic boxes. he can assume some pretty nifty 'mid action' kinda poses, like you could ahve him on mid stride and whatnot. also, the shoulder armor on Inferno is one of the coolest touches i've seen on the universe line thusfar. they're like attached, poseable accessories. one could pose them to be shoulder armor, or in my favorite position: JET BOOSTERS.

all in all, i really like this toy. of course, i am obsessed with Inferno on the basis that he was one of my absolute favorite toys as a childs.

    and now, more pictures:

and one superfluous GATTAI shot of a completely unrelated toys:
